The long-awaited repairs to Woongarra Scenic Drive (WSD) just north of the intersection with Rifle Range Road is finally scheduled to commence next Tuesday 11th June. The work will include the repair and re-surfacing of WSD and the installation of drainage pits and discharge pipes/culverts under WSB and into the Mary Kinross Park system.
The work will be carried out as a flood recovery project under the Federal and State Government’s Natural Disaster Relief & Recovery Arrangements (NDRRA) following the 2010/11 flooding events.
It’s proposed that once this work is finished, the contractor will move on to the adjacent upgrade of the WSD/Rifle Range Road intersection which will require some truncation of the north western corner, some re-alignment of the approaches of both roads, and the construction of centre median strips to clearly define traffic flows.
The WSD-Rifle Range Road route will become the priority thoroughfare with a Give Way or Stop sign installed to control north-bound traffic on WSD exiting Innes Park North.
These works should be completed by the end of June
