A couple of weeks ago I received concerns from a resident regarding pedestrians crossing Woongarra Scenic Drive (WSD) at the intersection with Durdins Road.
The concerns related mainly for those crossing from east to west (away from the beach) and included the absence of protective bollards, an identified crossing point and the poor line of sight when looking south in WSD. He was particularly concerned for parents pushing prams or with a number of small children crossing at the same time.
I met with the complainant on site with a council officer and I’m pleased to advise that obstructing shrubbery has been trimmed back, a concrete crossing point has been installed and a number of bollards erected. Please note that the crossing point does not represent a formal pedestrian crossing and that pedestrians must still give way to traffic.
This has been an extremely rapid response to the complaint so full marks to the crew concerned.
