I’ve received some complaints regarding overflowing roadside and parkland rubbish bins in the Bargara CBD foreshore precinct over weekends and especially on Sundays. This popular area attracts hundreds of people over most weekends and it’s great to see the local cafes, restaurants and takeaways being patronised by so many residents and visitors.
Unfortunately though, there are times when the existing bins struggle to cater for all the waste that’s generated and whilst most people seek to do the right thing, it’s difficult if sufficient recepticals aren’t available.
In response to the concerns raised, I’ve asked Council officers to either provide more bins or to arrange for more frequent emtying of the existing ones.
