Business Bundaberg is helping local tradies connect with disaster victims, insurance companies and contractors in a bid to help the local economy.
Bundaberg Regional Council Economic Development Portfolio spokesperson Cr Greg Barnes said the event was in response to the outcry from many local businesses about the lack of local tradesmen being used in the flood recovery.
“Every part of our economy has suffered from these disasters and if we can pull together and use local tradesmen and businesses, this will greatly help the recovery effort,” Cr Barnes said.
“There will also be information sessions from Bundaberg Regional Councils Planning and Infrastructure Department, Building Services Authority and Building Industry Online, who have designed a registration portal for local tradies, suppliers and contractors.”
Tradies Connect will be held on Tuesday, March 12 at the Bundaberg Civic Centre from 4.30pm. Entry is free.
