How good is this?! After being acquired by the Bundaberg RSL Club, the Bargara Bowls Club has been re-named as the:
Sandhills Sports Club
(home of the Bargara Bowls Club since 1962)
Some may consider it a bit lengthy but not only does it reflect a historical connection to the region’s former name of ‘Sandhills’, it also recognises the historic presence of the Bowl’s Club and the many residents that it’s served over the years.
Now for some more good news – I’ve just received a call from Col Rankin, Manager of the RSL & the newly branded club who announced that the club will be making a $1,000 donation towards Bargara’s ANZAC Day Dawn Service & Gunfire Breakfast!
It’s this sort of support from local businesses (of any amount) that enables the Bargara Commemorations Committee to continue to grow the event and to keep providing the complimentary Gunfire Breakfast & beverages.
Our sincere that’s to Col, President Tom Bradbury and the RSL Club Management Committee for such a generous and welcomed donation which will ultimately go to the benefit of our community and see the club recognised as a Silver Sponsor.
