As we become more and more reliant on mobile phones, tablets and apps, the importance of a reliable connection to a telecommunication network is becoming a vital factor in the day to day lives of many residents and business operators, not to mention its critical role in the effective management of local disasters.
The Wide Bay Burnett Regional Organisation of Council’s Regional Economic Development Advisory Committee (WBBREDAC) has engaged a consultant to undertake independent broadband testing across six regional council areas and Bundaberg Regional Council will be contributing towards an extended survey within our region.
As part of their brief, the consultancy will be conducting an independent assessment of the current level of mobile coverage provided by major broadband providers utilising a vehicle outfitted with speciaslised assessment equipment.
A report on the consultant’s findings is expected towards the end of November.
Please note that whilst Council is contributing towards this independent survey, it is not in a position to respond to individual inquiries about the provision of services or receptions in various areas. These should be referred to your respective telecommuncation provider.
