MONEY’S CREEK CAUSEWAY CLOSED THIS MONDAY 30th

As detailed in the the following Media Release, The Causeway over Money’s Creek is going to be closed to all vehicular traffic this Monday 30th September from 9.00am and may remain closed until 5.00pm. Attempts will be made to finish the required works earlier in the day however motorists should make alternative arrangements for the full eight hours just in case.

Pedestrians and cyclists will be able to cross The Causeway using the western footpath alignment however there may be temporary delays depending on the nature of the work being undertaken at a particular time.

It’s anticipated that Watson’s Road, Durdins Road & Causeway Drive will experience a significant increase in the volume of traffic during this period whilst they’re used as detours to access Hughes Road.

Media Release – RESTORATION OF THE CAUSEWAY AT BARGARA

An asphalt structural layer is required to strengthen the pavement to The Causeway at Bargara with work planned for next Monday 30 September.

To enable these works to be completed safely, The Causeway will be closed to traffic in both directions between 9.00 am to 5.00 pm on Monday only. Pedestrian and cyclist access will be maintained during the works with possible slight delays when sealing activities are being carried out.

Council’s contractor will have Variable Message Boards in place to advise motorists leading up to Monday’s planned works. Door knocks to alert the local community will occur in the area to discuss the planned activities.

While the road is closed, motorists travelling in the area will need to detour via Hughes Road. It is proposed that traffic controllers will operate at The Causeway during the hours of closure.

Council is aware of the inconvenience that this temporary road closure will cause and will undertake this work as quickly as practicable.

If any residents or businesses have specific concerns relating to this proposed closure, please contact CMC’s Project Manager – Luke Hall on 0407 645 913.
