RESIDENTS ASKED TO CAR POOL

Residents of North Bundaberg intending to use the One Mile Road/Hanbury Street/Perry Street route to the Bundaberg CBD on Monday for work are requested to consider car pooling or walking.

Significant congestion is occurring via this route and motorists can expect considerable delays. Please consider an appropriate travel time and allow for delays.

Sightseers continue to be a major problem and motorists with other than urgent requirements to utilize the Burnett Traffic Bridge are requested to keep away from the area.

Bundaberg Regional Council also advises residents in the North Bundaberg clean up areas and especially the controlled area to exercise care when placing rubbish for collection.

Please keep rubbish heaps away from fallen or dangling wires and power poles. Please ensure rubbish is not placed on or adjacent to any Telstra or Ergon equipment. Ensure your rubbish is able to be easily accessed for clearance.

Bundaberg Regional Council is maintaining a 24 hour a day presence in the controlled area as it embarks on the huge task of restoring infrastructure. Collection of piled flood damaged material is being undertaken at night.

In order to allow affected residents the opportunity to conduct a cleanup of their properties during the day, Council is accelerating its works at night.

The cooperation of all affected residents is greatly appreciated by Council.
