Hughes Road – the causeway has about 150mm going over it. 4WDs are getting through but most sedans are sensibly turning back. The section between Bargara Berries/Miras and Blain Street also has water over it so please be careful and don’t hit it at speed. I suspect that Hughes Road will be impassable to all vehicles within the next couple of hours.
Wessels Road is impassable.
Watson’s Road is still open but the water is lapping at the causeway culverts and I suspect that the road will be cut overnight.
Seaview Road has some water over it north of Watsons Road and near Farquar’s Road. Vehicles can still get through but again, I suspect that it will be cut within the next few hours.
Beach Milieu entrances at Atlantis Boulevard & Aquarius Drive are currently okay as the new Davidson Street culverts seem to be doing their job. Water is lapping at the edge of both streets and there’s about 100mm height capacity still left in the culverts. Atlantis & Acquarius would normally be cut off to most vehicles by now but there’s still a chance that we may get some water over the road later on.
Money’s Creek floodgates have been removed and this certainly helped to slow the rise in the level of the upper lagoon however the water is just starting to breach the southern end of the Causeway and I suspect that it’ll get cut off overnight.
Back Windermere Road has water of the road just south of Rifle Range Road and at the culverts near the quarry. Again, I suspect that it’ll get cutoff overnight.
Apart from that there’s obviously a lot of water laying about on most streets and I’m always fearful of someone hitting it in the dark and aquaplaning so please drive slowly.
