Council proposes to construct another stage of the Turtle Trail pedestrian footpath & cycleway which will eventually link Elliott Heads with Burnett Heads.
The next section will extend southwards from the northern end of Mary Kinross Park, Bargara through a vegetated area towards the outlet of Rifle Range Creek and then over a bridge to link up with Windermere Park and towards an alignment with the back of Selmar Place at Innes Park North.
The work has been delayed for some time as Council negotiated with both State & Federal environmental agencies to gain their respective approvals but is now included in the current budget.
I’ve been asked why there will be two pathways through the park (the other being the existing one through to Rifle Range Road) and the reason is that the current pathway will eventually link across WSD and up Rifle Range Road to join the multi-modal pathway network which will be a part of the North-South Link Road and the Hughes Road Extension as previously outlined here: http://www.gregbarnes.com.au/hughes-road-extension-map/
