PALM LAKE RESORT BRUNCH

This morning Isobel and I had the pleasure of hosting a BBQ Brunch at Bargara’s Palm Lake Resort and with the assistance of Rod & Maureen Hall we served a mixture of steaks, snags, bacon and salads to about 100 residents.

Following the meal I was able to bring everyone up to speed on topical issues including:

  • the proposed Hughes Road Extension of the North-South Distributor Road
  • the requested Rifle Range Beach off-leash dog area
  • the review of the Nielson Park Land Use Management Plan & proposed Saturday markets
  • road maintenance issues & especially the Woongarra Scenic Drive mess between Rifle Range Road & Moodies Road
  • Speed limit and design issues on Moodies Road
  • the 2013 Bargara ANZAC Day Dawn Service
  • the importance of face-to-face communications with elected representatives
  • the effectiveness of website and social media interactions

Many of the residents are new to the area with a significant number having relocated from Gladstone. As you would expect, nearly all of them have chosen Bargara because of the lifestyle and the facilities and amenities that are available in this fantastic gated community.

My thanks go to them for making Issy, Rod, Maureen and me so welcome and for the opportunity to field several interesting questions and to gain that coalface feedback that is always so important.
