PROPOSED NIELSON PARK MARKET SITE INSPECTION PHOTOS

Following considerable debate and much misinformation published regarding the proposed inclusion of Saturday Markets in the review of the draft Nielson Park Land Use Management Plan, I decided to obtain some actual facts and a photographic record so that I could assess for myself the extent of the current public useage of the area.

The applicant for the markets has proposed that they operate on the section of land between the amenities block & the skate bowl between 7.00am & 1.00pm on Saturdays.

To see how many members of the public currently use that section of the park during that period, I’ve made it a point over the last five weekends to visit the site on Saturday mornings between 10.00am & 11.00am which I would expect to be a busy time if the markets were eventually given an approval.

I took the following digital (verifiable) photos which are posted here to provide some factual information.
