There’s nothing like the smell of a home cooked meal to lift flagging spirits and the Queensland teams from the popular television cooking show “My Kitchen Rules” will be in Bundaberg tomorrow cooking for the community.
Brother and sister team from the Sunshine Coast, Jake and Elle and Hervey Bay duo Dan and Steph will be setting up the barbies over North Bundaberg to cook lunch for anyone who wants to turn up.
“I’ve been through the floods in Brisbane in 2010/11 and I know the heartbreak that is involved in cleaning up after floodwaters have been through your home. Jake , Dan, Steph and myself just want to do something that may take people’s minds off the task with which they are currently involved,” said Elle.
“People have been so generous in assisting us to pull this thing together. There is so much donated material and I have to pay a huge thanks to Coles for their wonderful help,” she said.
The couple will be cooking from 11am serving up sausages and steak sandwiches.
“We would love to meet with as many of the fklood affected residents as possible just to say we support you and appreciate the tough times you are experiencing.,” said Elle.
The teams will be located at the end of the traffic bridge in the Thirsty Camel car park.
Residents from the south side of the bridge can walk across to meet with the teams and enjoy the barbecue.
