There’s just one week to go until the Garage Sale Trail and with 67 sales already registered in the Bundaberg Region, it’s set to be one huge day of buying and selling.
Council’s Waste and Recycling portfolio spokesperson Cr Vince Habermann said the high number of sales would have positive environmental, economic and community impacts.
“The aim of the Garage Sale Trail is threefold – it’s about recycling and reusing valuable resources, ensuring the money being spent remains within our region and reinstating neighbourly connections which have tended to drop away in our modern and fast-paced communities,” Cr Habermann said.
“With 490 sellers already registered for the day, Garage Sale Trail data projects more than 2000 buyers will be out on the day looking for a bargain.”
He said Council had collated a list and map of the 67 sellers who had registered by Thursday, October 16 that was available to print on the Council website or at Council service centres.
“For anyone who registered after that date, or for people who would prefer to use the interactive map on their computer or mobile device, the full list will be available at garagesaletrail.com.au.”
Cr Habermann said the Rummage for Relay mega community garage sale at the Recreation Precinct was a highlight of this year’s Garage Sale Trail.
“We have had community members request a central location for people to hold stalls as part of the day so Council is thrilled a community group has answered the call to provide one.
“It’s still not too late to register whether it be at your home, organisation or business or even to join the Rummage for Relay.”
