As mentioned in a previous post, ‘Snifter’, the P51D Mustang will be returning to our skies for the ANZAC Day aerial salutes and I’ve now locked in the flight times for all 10 regional services.

With ‘Snifter’, Bargara Fly-Pass Controller, Ian Rowan, Mark Hall & Brian Stephens – Bundaberg Airport 24th April 2014
Snifter’s two pilots, Mark Hall & Brian Stephens will be attending the unveiling & consecration ceremony for the new memorial at 5.30pm on Friday evening an this will be the first time that they’ve actually been to Bargara having flown over the township on many occasions.
Mark & Brian are commercial pilots for Cathay Pacific (based in Hong Kong) and specifically ensure that they’re scheduled for flights into Brisbane to make sure that they can perform our aerial salutes
It would be great to make them feel welcome and to show how appreciative we are for their services over the years and to perhaps learn a bit more about this historic fighter.
We’re also attempting (through limited technical expertise I must say) to enable them to speak to the crowd as they fly over Saturday’s Service through a radio link to the PA system. Whether we’ll be able to hear someone who’s sitting a few feet from a roaring Packard Merlin V12 engine remains to be seen!
