Bundaberg Regional Council and Bundaberg North Burnett Tourism (BNBT) has thanked the local community for supporting a new campaign to showcase the Bundaberg region world-wide.
Acting Mayor David Batt said a promotional video launched last week has already been watched 17,755 times, thanks to locals ‘sharing’ it via their social media sites.
“Latest statistics show that the video has been viewed 14,451 times on Facebook and 3214 times via YouTube. It has been ‘shared’ via Council’s Facebook page by hundreds of people, receiving 1247 likes, comments and shares,” Cr Batt said.
“This is a great result and I thank the people of the Bundaberg region for getting behind this important marketing campaign.
“The video has been viewed by people across the globe with 1599 of the views on YouTube from people located in the United States, representing 50 per cent of YouTube views. Australia was the second highest viewing location on 33 per cent, followed by Canada representing 7.8 per cent of views.”
Portfolio Spokesperson for Economic Development and Tourism, Cr Greg Barnes said the campaign has been successful in spreading the message that the Bundaberg region is a great place in which to live, play, work and invest.
“It’s great to see the community get behind this campaign to spread the word that our region is open for business and primed for substantial economic development,” Cr Barnes said.
BNBT General Manager, Katherine Mergard said: “Live, Play, Work Invest – Bundaberg Region has proven successful in marketing the region to families, travellers, professionals and investors across the globe.”
