Safety improvements will get underway on sixteen pedestrian crossings at two major Bundaberg CBD pedestrian intersections from Monday (October 13).
Roads and Drainage portfolio spokesperson Cr Tony Ricciardi said given the central location of the Bourbong St crossings, Council had scheduled the works for between 7pm and 4am to reduce the impact of road closures on motorists and businesses.
“Council staff will be repainting the Bourbong St pedestrian crossings at Barolin and Targo St intersections,” Cr Ricciardi said.
“While we realise Bourbong St is a high traffic area, this process will require road closures.”
He said road closures would be in place along Bourbong St and one lane of both Barolin and Targo Streets would remain open at all times with a traffic controller directing motorists.
“We apologise in advance for any inconvenience these works may cause however we ask for your patience as we carry out these necessary safety improvements.”
The night works will continue for at least two weeks, weather permitting.
