Do you know someone who has been making a big difference in the Bundaberg region over the last 12 months in business, community, creative or sporting pursuits?
Mayor Cr Mal Forman encouraged residents to recognise a deserving local through the Australia Day Spirit Awards before nominations closed this Friday, November 13.
“Nominations are closing for the 2016 Australia Day Spirit Awards and I urge residents to take the time to detail the achievements of someone they know is going the extra mile for their community,” Cr Forman said.
“This is a meaningful gesture to show how much we appreciate their efforts and all that they bring to our region.
“Don’t let the contributions of community-minded residents go unrewarded.”
Cr Forman said there were 11 award categories with awards available for individuals, groups, businesses and events.
Nomination categories include:
- Citizen of the year
- Young citizen spirit award
- Senior citizen spirit award
- Community spirit award
- Community event of the year award
- Creative spirit award
- Junior creative spirit award
- Green spirit award
- Sporting spirit award
- Junior sporting spirit award
- Business spirit award

Nominations close November 13, 2015.
