Media Release – RATES NOTICES HITTING LETTERBOXES THIS WEEK

Bundaberg Regional Council advises ratepayers that Property Rates for the current half year rating period ending 30 June, 2014 will be issued today, Monday, 10 February 2014 and are due by Friday, 14 March 2014.

If ratepayers have not received their Rate Notice by 17 February 2014, they should contact Council’s Call Centre to obtain details of the charges which are due and payable. 10% discount on General Rates (less Council’s Pension Rebate if applicable) will be given as noted on the Rate Notice if paid by 14 March 2014. 11% interest will be charged on all unpaid rates.

Should ratepayers experience difficulty in paying their rates, they should contact Council’s Debt Administration to discuss repayment options.

Bundaberg Regional Council provides ratepayers with a number of options to make payment as convenient as possible. Payment methods comprise: BPAY, Internet Banking, at any Australia Post or BPoint outlet, or by phone or mail.  If ratepayers want to pay in person, they can do so at their nearest Council Office (in Bundaberg – at 190 Bourbong Street; Bargara – 169 Hughes Road; Childers – 45 Churchill Street, or Gin Gin – 4 Dear Street). These payment options are also listed on the back of the rate notice.

For any rates enquiries, ratepayers can contact Bundaberg Regional Council by phone on 1300 883 699, or by fax on (07) 4150 5410, or e-mail at ceo@bundaberg.qld.gov.au. A comprehensive explanation of the 2013/14 Rates and Charges is provided on Council’s website.  http://bundaberg.qld.gov.au/residents/rates/explanation.
