Media Release – MARCH INTO DIGITAL ECONOMY

 Businesses and organisations across the region can register now for the March workshops of Council’s Bundaberg Digital Enterprise Program.

Economic Development portfolio spokesperson Cr Greg Barnes said the program aimed to help small to medium sized businesses and not-for-profit organisations maximise opportunities from greater digital engagement.

“Council is pleased to assist in delivering these free workshops which are about working with the local business community to grow our region’s economy,” Cr Barnes said.

“Due to their popularity, I urge interested business owners to register as soon as possible. In this day and age all businesses and organisations should be taking advantage of the digital economy.

Workshops to be held in Bundaberg and Gympie include:

March 10, 4pm – 7pm:

Where:

Bundaberg Business Enterprise Centre (Cnr Quay and Tantitha Streets, Bundaberg)

Topic:

Cloud and cloud applications

March 11, 9am – 12pm

Where:

Bundaberg Regional Council Training Facility (78 Woongarra Street, Bundaberg)

Topic:

Mobility, Teleworking and Online Communications

March 24, 4pm – 7pm

Where:

Old Bank Building Training Room (Cnr Nash & Channon Sts, Gympie)

Topic:

Online Presence

The Digital Enterprise Program, continuing until August 2015, is funded by the Australian Government and sponsored by Bundaberg Regional Council.

Under the program, Council and Gravelroad work with participating businesses and organisations to facilitate group training sessions. Participants who complete at least one group workshop will become eligible for four hours of one-on-one mentoring.
