The forecast weather conditions for the Bundaberg region as a result of Tropical Cyclone Marcia have been downgraded by the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM).
Mayor, Cr Mal Forman said the latest report from BOM indicated that Marcia was weakening and was now heading further inland.
“We have been advised by BOM that the forecast conditions for our region, including projected wind speeds and rainfall totals, have been reduced,” Cr Forman said.
“However, a cyclone and severe weather warning for our region is still current and we ask residents to remain vigilant.
“Council, in conjunction with the Bundaberg Local Disaster Management Group and District Disaster Management Group will continue to monitor the situation overnight, in conjunction with BOM.”
