Media Release – COUNCIL CONTINUES CHRISTMAS KERBSIDE COLLECT

The festive season is business as usual for the kerbside collection crew at Bundaberg Regional Council.

Waste and Recycling portfolio spokesperson Cr Vince Habermann said Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day would see Council’s dedicated Waste and Recycling team complete their collection runs as per normal.

“Collection days will continue as usual over public holidays, however the individual runs will commence earlier on these days to accommodate for Council employees spending time with their families on these special holidays,” Cr Habermann said.

“Council is asking residents whose bin collection day falls on any of these days, to place their bins out the night before to ensure collection, as any missed bins will not be emptied until the following scheduled collection day.

“Residents are reminded to space their general waste and recycling bins at least one meter apart, or to simply place them on opposite sides of the driveway.”

Council’s 11 waste facilities will continue to operate as usual during the holiday season with the exception of Christmas day.

“The University Drive Facility will be the only waste facility open on Christmas day, operating from 8am until noon.”
