Media Release – CALL FOR GROUPS TO EXPRESS INTEREST IN MAYOR’S CHARITY BALL FUNDS

Not-for-profit community groups, organisations and charities located within the Bundaberg Region are invited to express an interest in being a beneficiary of the 2015 Mayor’s Charity Ball.

Mayor Cr Mal Forman said each year the annual ball raised much-needed funds for a variety of worthy causes throughout the region.

“The Mayor’s Charity Ball is a fantastic opportunity for the region to come together for an enjoyable evening in support of local groups and organisations,” Cr Forman said.

“In previous years the ball, which includes a silent auction, has raised in excess of $20, 000.”

He said he would encourage anyone who knew of a group or organisation who may be eligible to receive the funds to fill out an application form on Council’s website.

“In the applications we ask for information about your group or organisation and what you would use the funds for.

“Every application is considered by Council but we do give preference to local charities celebrating a significant milestone or anniversary or who may be fundraising for a major capital item.

” Apply at bundaberg.qld.gov.au or call 1300 883 699 for more information. Submissions close January 16, 2015.
