Media Release – BARGARA CAUSEWAY WORK SCHEDULED FOR JULY 13TH

Construction of a new roundabout at the intersection of the Causeway and Woongarra Scenic Drive at Bargara is scheduled to commence on Monday, July 13, with work expected to take around 16 weeks to complete.

Bundaberg Regional Council Roads and Drainage portfolio spokesperson Cr Tony Ricciardi said the intersection was being upgraded to improve safety for motorists and pedestrians as well as catering for future increased traffic volumes due to the growth being experienced in the coastal region.

“This is a major project being undertaken by Council’s construction crews and traffic control measures will be operational during the construction period.”

“While work will be structured to involve as little inconvenience as possible to the travelling public, there is likely to be traffic delays and there may be occasions where it is necessary to undertake short term road closures.”

Enquiries regarding the work can be directed to Council’s Roads and Drainage staff by contacting 1300 883 699.
