Media Release – MAJOR PROJECTS GROUP
Council has arranged with its Contractor, CMC to provide additional resources to reduce construction time of the flood recovery works. A third stabiliser and operating crew have been engaged to undertake scheduled works.
Approved works under the NDRRA 2010-11 Contracts are continuing in the Bargara, Innes Park, Burnett Heads, Kalkie, Bundaberg East, Childers, Booyal, Wallaville and Gin Gin areas.
CMC is now able to return to the areas that were impacted by the 2013 Flood Event. These areas include Avondale, Bucca, Bundaberg North, Fairymead, Gooburrum, Meadowvale, Moorland, Mullet Creek, Sharon, South Kolan and Yandaran.
The Contractor will be using Variable Message Boards to alert motorists of the areas of construction and where necessary, directly affected residents will be contacted by the contractor.
Motorists are urged to observe the roadworks signage and follow traffic control instructions during this final stage of construction. Bundaberg Regional Council thanks residents for their patience and cooperation during the project.
Should you require additional information, please contact Council on 1300 883 699. This restoration work is being delivered under the Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements, a joint Federal (75%) and State (25%) government incentive.
