Following the lodgement of my motion to refuse the application seeking to conduct recreational take-offs, landings and the storage of a helicopter on residential land on Woongarra Scenic Drive, Bargara, the Mayor has now lodged an additional Notice of Motion which seeks to defer the matter back to a future meeting of the Planning Committee for it to be “reconsidered by Council”.
The recommendation to refuse the application was originally presented to the Planning Committee on 19th May but the refusal was rejected on the following vote:

Motion:
That Item L3 of the Planning Committee meeting held on Tuesday 19 May 2015, relating to Application No 322.2014.42328.1 – Material Change of Use for Undefined Use (Helicopter Landing Facility) at 2 and 6 Woongarra Scenic Drive, Bargara – be reintroduced for consideration by Council at a future Planning Committee Meeting.
Background:
At the Planning Committee Meeting of 19 May 2015, the Development Application for Material Change of Use for Undefined Use Helicopter Landing Facility) at 2 and 6 Woongarra Scenic Drive, Bargara – was recommended by the Assessment Manager for refusal for 11 reasons.
The Motion on being put was lost by 5 votes to 6 votes.
To enable a decision on this Development Application to be made, it is necessary for this Application to be reconsidered by Council.
