The following information has been provided by the Disaster Management Group for public release….
- Highway is now fully open north and south
- Trains will not be operating for some time
- Most areas now clear of floodwaters
- There are meetings at 10am at Moncrieff Theatre and 11am at North Bundy High Hall for ‘North Bundy Exclusion Zone Residents Only’ to explain the current situation in North Bundaberg.
- There is presently no water, power or sewerage in the exclusion zone area.
- Residents in other areas are asked to move water damaged goods onto the footpath for collection
- Fuel and food supplies have returned to normal in most areas
- Power is still off to approximately 8,600 properties and will be restored as soon as possible.
- There are 2 Community Recovery Centres now operating at the TAFE College and PCYC which are open between 9am – 5pm daily for those persons who are eligible for financial assistance grants
- We encourage all those who can return to their properties to do so and those from out of town are able to travel as the highway is open.
