Council has issued the following media release regarding the impending opening of the new kiosk at Elliott Heads which has been an initiative of Cr. Rowleson since the last term of Council. It’s always pleasing to see a concept become a reality which I’m sure will be a bonus for local residents and visitors alike.
NEW ELLIOTT HEADS KIOSK JUST WEEKS AWAY FROM OPEN DAY
With the opening of the new Elliott Heads Kiosk just weeks away the existing kiosk will finish operating tomorrow, August 16.
Council’s Venues portfolio spokesperson Cr Lynne Forgan said the decision to close had been made by the kiosk’s manager.
“The manager of the existing Elliott Heads Kiosk facility has informed Council that they will not be able to continue operating past August 16,” Cr Forgan said.
“We have awarded the tender for the management of the new facility, which will be a vibrant new venue for all to enjoy.”
Divisional representative Cr Danny Rowleson said he realised the closure may cause residents some inconvenience and asked for their patience and understanding as the region awaited the opening of the new facility.
“The managers of the new facility have confirmed to Council that the open day is only a few short weeks away,” Cr Rowleson said.
“While leaving the Elliott Heads area without a kiosk for this short period of time is not ideal, we hope residents can understand that this facility will be a great addition to the area and is well worth the wait.”
