The following is a recent media release received from APA regarding the status of damage to the gas line across the Burnett River.
APA advises that construction of the new pipe section to replace the damaged pipeline across the Burnett River is progressing to plan with installation and commissioning scheduled for completion on Thursday 14 February.
The first tanker of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Victoria has arrived and is being vaporised and injected into the Wide Bay Gas Distribution Network at Maryborough for limited use by critical sites. Additional LNG shipments are in progress which will increase gas pressure allowing normal consumption for these critical sites over the next 24 hours. As additional tankers arrive we will look to reconnect additional customers where possible.
APA and Envestra are working to reconnect all customers as quickly as possible which is likely to progressively commence from Thursday 14 February following commissioning of the new pipeline.
