Two shared pedestrian crossing points on Woongarra Scenic Drive are scheduled for completion within the next two weeks.
Council has already prepared the two sites located outside Carlyle Gardens and the northern end of Shady Grove which have been awaiting completion by a contractor from the Sunshine Coast who will apply the coloured stamped pattern on the road surface. I’m advised that this service is currently not available in our region and that Council has waited to compile a number of other local jobs before engaging the contractor who will complete the works during one visit thus saving costs through an enonomy of scale.
The crossing point outside Carlyle gardens will be connected to the bus drop-off zone by a concrete pathway to assist pedestrians and especially those with mobility devices.
The crossing point at the northen end of Shady Grove will connect the bus shelter to the timber walkway on the southern embankment of Money’s Creek which will cater for local residents together with visitors to Crawford Park and the southern end of Kelly’s Beach.
