COUNCILLOR’S REMUNERATION & DISCIPLINE REPORT HANDED DOWN

The Local Government Remunerations and Discipline Tribunal has handed down its 2014 Report.

The Report advises that the remuneration for elected representatives in all Queensland Councils (including the Category 5 Regional Councils of Bundaberg, Gladstone, Fraser Coast & Western Downs) will increase by 2.3%…..

“Determining of remuneration for councillors

Continuing Continuing its previous practice of adopting a cautious approach when reviewing levels of councillor remuneration, the Tribunal has decided to increase the maximum level of remuneration for all councillors (including mayors and deputy mayors) by 2.3% from 1 July 2015.”

As a result, the Category 5 Remuneration Schedule effective from 1st July 2015 will be:

  • Mayor – $142,769
  • Deputy Mayor – $93,927
  • Councillor – $82,655
