CONGRATULATIONS TO LEAD CHILD CARE CENTRE

This afternoon I had the pleasure of judging the artwork of some of our youngest residents at the Lead Childcare Centre on Hughes Road, Bargara.

This is the first time that I’ve visited the centre and I was amazed at the extent of services that I witnessed as I was given a tour by Director, Julie Whalley. The immaculately maintained facility and the expanse of the fully enclosed outdoor play area with extensive shading is a credit to the centre and to Julie and her staff. Perhaps most important though, was the caring attitude of the team which treated each child as if it was their own.

It’s obvious that others share the same opinion as 35 new enrolments from 20 separate families have been registered at the centre since it held an Open Day last weekend! As the centre approaches its 4th birthday on 1st June, it’s encouraging to see businesses such as this doing so well and providing such quality services to our younger families and especially the kids.

My task for today was to choose 10 winning artistic masterpieces and I was asked if I wanted to do this in front of the children. You’ve got to be joking – no way in the world was I going to look into all those adorable (pleading?) faces knowing that some would be disappointed so I did what any respectable coward would do and did the judging behind closed doors. It was a happy ending though as  all the kids got a prize and I left with a clear conscience!
