For some residents it’s impossible to make it to a Dawn Service on ANZAC Day and it could be for a number of reasons.
For some, it will be due to an incapacity, an illness or hospitalisation.
For others it will simply be because the emotions that are evoked during these events are far too difficult to cope with in a public venue.
For several years, Bundaberg Broadcasters as one of our Media Partners has catered for these people by bringing the Bargara Dawn Service live into their homes or hospital wards and they need to be congratulated for providing such a valuable community service at no cost whatsoever.
This year the entire event will be broadcast live from the Bargara foreshore commencing around 5.00am through to about 7.00am and can be heard on 4BU (1332am) or HITZ FM (93.9fm).
The event’s audio and PA System will be controlled by Mal Brown’s highly experience team from Radioactive Entertainment who will provide live feeds directly to the Bundy Broadcaster’s crew. As a result, listeners will be able to pick up every bit of the service and will ‘feel’ rather than ‘hear’ the emotion. Each year the Radioactive crew deploys ambient microphones which can usually pick up every sound including that of the ocean lapping at the shore during the Minute’s Silence.
Our sincere thanks to Station Manager Trish Mears, Mike Price, Trevor Leutton and the rest of the crew who support our event at absolutely no cost and bring it live to thousands of those who can’t attend.
