BARGARA CBD PARKING WOES

I’m continuing to receive complaints about parking issued in and around the Bargara CBD.

Last year Council approved requests from a number of businesses for the allocation of three 1/2 hour restricted spaces outside the servo, Thai restaurant & surf shop with another three outside the convenience store & butcher. Whilst these are signposted, many people simply park there for longer periods out of habit. I’ve now asked for the relevant spaces to be better delineated by blue line markings.

I’ve also received representations regarding the limited street parking spaces in See Street south of Bauer Street. At the moment, these spaces are unrestricted however it’s apparent that some motorists are leaving vehicles parked there for many hours at a time and in some cases, all day long. I understand that a petition is heading my way requesting that these spaces be restricted to 2 hour parking as applies to most areas in the City. Once I receive it, I’ll take it to Council for consideration.

If anyone has any further issues related to CBD parking could you please forward them to me so that I can have all the issues considered at the same time?
