Please note the following courtesy advice from the Department of Transport & Main Roads regarding works of FE Walker Street…..
The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) has commenced rehabilitation works on a 1.4km section of Bundaberg–Port Road (FE Walker Street) between the Bundaberg Ring Road and Ashfield Road intersections.
Over the years this section of the road has deteriorated requiring an ongoing need for maintenance and disruption. These works will strengthen the existing pavement to minimise pavement failures and associated costs and provide a safer driving surface for motorists.
Works will generally be carried out from Monday to Friday between 6am and 6pm with every effort made to minimise disruptions, noise and dust where possible. To undertake the works safely and efficiently, traffic controllers, single-lane closures and speed restrictions will be in place as required. While every effort will be made to minimise traffic disruptions, motorists should factor in additional travel time for their journey. RoadTek will deliver the construction of the project. Normal traffic conditions will be restored over the Christmas and New Year break. The project team will then return to site to undertake the remaining works, which are expected to be completed by March 2017, weather permitting.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation while these works are underway.
