The Bargara Commemorations Committee has now received an order of 1,000 unique lapel pins for Bargara’s ANZAC Day Dawn Service and Gallipoli Centenary Commemorations.
Measuring 50mm in length and mounted with a traditional broach pin, it depicts an inverted battlefield grave marker comprised of a No. 1, Mk3, .303calibre Lee Enfield rifle supporting a Digger’s slouch hat with the text “Bargara Remembers” running beneath it.
Overnight, some 180 pins have already been distributed and considerations are underway to determine if another order is warranted. In the meantime limited numbers of the pins are available at the following outlets with more to be announced next week:
* My Community Consultation Desk outside Café Caprice (Bargara Central Shopping Centre) this Saturday 28th March between 10.00am & 1.00pm
* Bargara Post Office
* Barber At Bargara
The cost is $5.00 each with 100% of all proceeds going towards future Bargara commemorative events.
